Printer's Row Lofts, Prairie Avenue and Rail-Yard Neighborhoods
Housing here tells the area's history. The Printing House Row District, landmarked in 1996, covers the 500 through 800 blocks of Dearborn, Federal and Plymouth, where printing buildings were rehabilitated for commercial and residential use after the printers moved out in the 1960s. Dearborn Park and the 72-acre Central Station development rose on former rail yards, and the Prairie Avenue District protects the 1800 and 1900 blocks of Prairie Avenue as a City landmark. In the Near South Side community area, south of Roosevelt Road, CMAP counts about 12 percent of homes as single-family houses or townhouses, with most of the rest in buildings of 20 or more units.
Museum Campus Mornings and Burnham Park Miles
Grant Park reaches south to Roosevelt Road, and its 57-acre Museum Campus at the southeast end is part of the park. South of Grant Park, Burnham Park stretches more than 650 acres along the lake, and the Park District lists a Burnham fitness course among its facilities. The Lakefront Trail ties the whole shoreline together. Your trainer can take a session to the lake for intervals on the trail or bodyweight work on the grass, then bring it back inside when the wind off the water says so.
Close to Home Near Prairie Avenue and Roosevelt Road
Inland, the Women's Park and Gardens at 1801 S. Indiana sits between the Clarke and Glessner houses inside the Prairie Avenue District, with 3.23 acres of gardens and green space a short walk from The LEX. Our past resident fitness programs include Roosevelt Collection Lofts, The LEX and Library Lofts. Today any resident can book one-on-one training, partner sessions or nutrition counseling, and no trainer joins our team without a Bachelor's degree and a nationally accredited certification.

South Loop personal training FAQ
Is the South Loop part of the Loop?
Partly. The Loop community area runs south to Roosevelt Road, so Printer's Row is officially in the Loop. South of Roosevelt, the South Loop falls in the Near South Side community area.
Do you train residents of the Museum Park towers?
Yes. Museum Park is a group of residential towers at the southern edge of Grant Park, across Lake Shore Drive from the Museum Campus. A trainer comes to your unit or your building's fitness center where rules allow.
Which trains serve the neighborhood?
Roosevelt (1167 S. State) serves the Red, Orange and Green Lines, Harrison serves the Red Line at 608 S. State, and the Green Line stops at Cermak-McCormick Place. Metra Electric stops at Museum Campus/11th Street, 18th Street and McCormick Place.
