Row Houses, Walk-Ups and Towers
Lincoln Park's housing splits two ways. About 43 percent of homes are in buildings of 20 or more units, including the high-rises developers put up near the park, while roughly a third of all homes predate 1940. The City's 1974 report on the Mid-North District counted about 480 buildings, most built between 1871 and 1900, including frame cottages, flat-front and bay-front row houses, and two- and three-flats. A trainer can work in your building's fitness center where management allows it, or in your living room with equipment they bring.
From Mid-North to the Clybourn Corridor
The community area runs from North Avenue up to Diversey Parkway, between the Chicago River and the lake. Inside it are Lincoln Central, Mid-North, Park West, Ranch Triangle, Wrightwood, Sheffield and the DePaul area, where McCormick Seminary sold its land to DePaul University in 1973. The Clybourn Corridor retail district sits on the west side and continues south into the Near North Side. Metra's Clybourn station, at 2001 N. Ashland on the Union Pacific North line, is just west, between the DePaul area and Bucktown.
Oz Park, North Pond and the Lakefront
Along the community area's lake edge runs Lincoln Park itself, more than 1,100 acres of parkland stretching from Ohio Street Beach north to Ardmore Avenue. North Pond, at 2610 N. Cannon Drive, has a nature sanctuary, and Diversey Harbor anchors the north end. Inland, Oz Park at 2021 N. Burling covers 14.4 acres with tennis and basketball courts, ball fields and statues of Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion. Any of these can host an outdoor session.

Lincoln Park personal training FAQ
Which 'L' stations serve Lincoln Park?
Fullerton (Red, Brown and Purple), Armitage and Diversey (Brown and Purple) are in the neighborhood, and CTA lists all three as accessible. North/Clybourn on the Red Line sits at the southern edge.
My block has permit parking. How does a visiting trainer park?
On zoned streets a car needs a matching zone sticker or a daily guest pass during posted hours. Zone residents can buy 24-hour passes in sheets of 15 from the City Clerk, and the 43rd Ward office sells them to residents of its zones.
Have you worked with Lincoln Park-area buildings before?
Yes. Over the years we've run resident fitness programs in buildings such as the Residences at NEW CITY, at 1457 N. Halsted just south of North Avenue. Those partnerships have ended, and today we train clients one-on-one in their own homes and building gyms.
Nearby areas we serve
We also train clients in Sheffield/DePaul, Wrightwood, Ranch Triangle, Park West, Lincoln Central, Mid-North and Clybourn Corridor.
