Space to train at home, or in your building's gym
About three in four homes in the village are detached single-family houses, and more than 80 percent have three or more bedrooms. A spare bedroom, a lower level or a garage bay can all serve as a training space for an hour. Roughly one home in seven is in a building of 20 units or more, where a building fitness center, if there is one and guests are allowed, is another option. In either setting, your trainer arrives with the equipment the program needs, so you can start without buying anything.
Gillson Park's 60 lakefront acres
Gillson Park is the Wilmette Park District's lakefront park, 60 acres between Sheridan Road, Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan, built on fill excavated during construction of the North Shore Channel. Beyond its beaches, the park has a fitness course, lighted tennis courts, lawns and curving pedestrian paths with wide lake views. That gives a trainer plenty to work with: sprints on the grass, step-ups, bodyweight circuits or a brisk walk along the water. The park is open from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
Where the Purple Line ends and the Green Bay Trail begins
The CTA Purple Line ends at Linden, an accessible station on Linden Avenue with park-and-ride, and express trains run to and from the Loop on weekday mornings and afternoons. Metra's Union Pacific North line stops at the Wilmette station at 722 Green Bay Road, between Evanston's Central Street and Kenilworth. Pace Route 422 connects Linden with Glenview and Northbrook Court. The Green Bay Trail also starts in the village and runs north beside the Metra tracks. For commuters, that makes it easy to mix sessions at a downtown office with sessions at home.

Wilmette personal training FAQ
Can we use the fitness course at Gillson Park?
Yes, it can anchor an outdoor session. The park district lists a fitness course, lighted tennis courts and picnic areas at Gillson Park, which is open 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
Can my spouse and I train together?
Yes. Partner and small-group training lets two or more people share sessions with one certified trainer, at home or in a park.
Do I need to buy equipment before the first session?
No. Trainers bring the equipment the program needs, so a clear patch of floor is enough to start. If you want a home setup later, raise it during your free consultation.
