Country Lots, Custom Homes
Long Grove is almost entirely single-family. CMAP counts 98.5 percent of its housing units as detached houses, with single-family residential covering more than half the village's land and open space another 13 percent. Most homes date from 1970 through 2009. Kildeer, next door, describes itself as 2,625 acres of custom homes on spacious lots across more than 25 subdivisions. On properties like these, a trainer can set up in a home gym, a lower level or a patio, and brings whatever equipment the program requires.
Around the Covered Bridge
The village calls its downtown Illinois' first historic district, a cluster of local shops and restaurants known for its annual festivals and its single-lane covered bridge. The bridge, named for longtime village president Robert Parker Coffin, dates to 1906. Right in the downtown, the Park District's five-acre Buffalo Creek Park adds a gazebo and green space, open dawn to dusk. It is an easy meeting point for a walking warm-up before a session or a short stretch-and-mobility hour on a mild day.
Woodland and Prairie Close By
The Long Grove Park District manages about 450 acres, and its showpiece is the 50-acre Reed-Turner Woodland Preserve, a surviving piece of the original oak and hickory grove with wood-chip walking trails reached through the nature center at 3849 Old McHenry Road. Buffalo Creek Forest Preserve, which also carries a Long Grove address, covers 408 acres with about 5.5 miles of gravel trail, boardwalks and two scenic overlooks. Its main entrance is on Checker Road just west of Arlington Heights Road.

Long Grove personal training FAQ
Do you come to homes in Kildeer?
Yes. Kildeer sits in the southwest corner of Lake County beside Long Grove, Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Deer Park, and a trainer comes to homes there as well.
Can sessions move outside to a forest preserve trail?
Yes. Buffalo Creek's gravel trails and Reed-Turner's wood-chip paths both work for outdoor sessions, and Buffalo Creek opens daily at 6:30 am.
We already have a home gym. Will the trainer use it?
Yes. Your trainer can build sessions around the equipment you own and bring anything else the program needs. Couples can also share a session through partner training.
