Built for Park Ridge's Mid-Century Houses
Park Ridge is a city of single-family homes. CMAP's June 2026 snapshot counts 71 percent of housing units as detached houses, and half of all units were built between 1940 and 1969. A basement, a spare bedroom or a garage can each become a training space. Your trainer brings the equipment your program calls for, so there is nothing to buy before you start. About one unit in ten is in a building of 20 or more units, and if that is you, sessions can also happen in your building's fitness center where management allows outside trainers.
Between Two Metra Stops and the Kennedy
The city sits right next to Chicago, about 14 miles northwest of downtown and two miles east of O'Hare, with the Kennedy Expressway and the Tri-State Tollway close by. Metra's Union Pacific Northwest line stops twice in town: Park Ridge station at 100 S. Summit Ave. in Uptown, near the Art Deco Pickwick Theatre, and Dee Road station at 950 Busse Highway. The next two stops west, Des Plaines and Cumberland, are in neighboring Des Plaines, where we also train clients at home.
Park District Space and River Trail Miles
The Park District of Park Ridge dates to 1914, the year it acquired Hodges Park, its first property. Hinkley Park, with its pool and community gardens, Centennial Park and Maine Park round out the district's larger sites for warm-weather sessions. To the west, the Forest Preserves of Cook County's Des Plaines River Trail runs roughly 28 miles through Park Ridge and Des Plaines, open to walkers and cyclists from sunrise to sunset. It suits interval walks and longer endurance work on a weekend morning.

Park Ridge personal training FAQ
Do you also train clients in Des Plaines?
Yes. Des Plaines sits just west of Park Ridge along the same Metra line and the Des Plaines River Trail, and a trainer can come to homes there too.
My house was built in the 1950s and the basement is small. Will that work?
Usually, yes. Trainers bring the equipment the program needs and plan sessions around the space you have, whether that is a basement, a living room or a garage.
Can I train with my spouse or a neighbor?
Yes. Partner and small-group sessions are available, along with virtual sessions on weeks when an in-person visit does not fit. We just need 24 hours' notice to reschedule.
Nearby areas we serve
We also train clients in Uptown Park Ridge and Des Plaines.
