Homes From the 1990s Building Wave
Bartlett's housing is younger than nearby Schaumburg's or Hoffman Estates'. CMAP's June 2026 snapshot shows 55 percent of units built between 1990 and 2009 and a median year built of 1992, against 1979 and 1976 for those two neighbors. Detached houses make up 71 percent of the stock and townhomes about 15 percent. Whether you train in a lower level, a garage or a spare bedroom, the trainer brings the equipment the session needs.
Prairie, Wetland and Long Trails
Open space covers 27 percent of the village's land, about 2,785 acres, according to CMAP's 2023 land-use count. In Wayne, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County's Pratt's Wayne Woods spans more than 3,400 acres with over 12 miles of trail and a stretch of the Illinois Prairie Path's Elgin Branch. Its main entrance is on Powis Road, three-quarters of a mile south of Stearns Road. Closer to home, the Bartlett Trail bike path crosses the village east to west, handy for a run-walk warm-up before a session.
Downtown Around the Old Depot
Bartlett's original railroad station, built in 1873, now houses the village's Depot Museum. Today's Metra Milwaukee District West trains stop at Bartlett station, 120 E. Railroad Avenue, on their way to Union Station, and the village provides free WiFi at the station. The next stop toward Chicago is Hanover Park, at 1975 W. Lake Street, where Pace Route 554 also connects. For indoor recreation, the Bartlett Park District's community center and offices are on Stearns Road.

Bartlett personal training FAQ
My home is in the DuPage County part of Bartlett. Do you come there?
Yes. The village spans Cook and DuPage counties with a small piece in Kane, and trainers come to homes in every part of the village.
Is Pratt's Wayne Woods good for outdoor sessions?
It works well for walking and running work, with more than 12 miles of trail. The preserve opens one hour after sunrise and closes one hour after sunset.
We live in a townhome with limited floor space. Will that work?
Yes. Trainers adapt sessions to smaller rooms and bring compact equipment, and partner sessions let two people in the household train together.
